Bellflowermews Description

When sold the former 6 were slightly modified by replacing the 3rd with a slightly smaller pot, more in keeping with the rest of the ring (The original 3rd was as big as the tenor!). Two trebles were then added to augment the ring and the resulting 8 had a more natural progression of size.

The original 3rd remained on its fittings in the radial frame with the remainder of the fittings.

Of the spare pots I had, the only diatonic ring that could be formed, without tuning, was a slightly heavier 4 in Bb so these were attached to the spare headstocks with the original 3rd as the 2nd. Some clapper refurbishment was also carried out.

The new ring was then hung in a new frame, hanging side by side, all swinging the same way, in the garden shed and as space was slightly limited the ropes hang in a straight line! They were rung for the first time in May 2006. Since then all the clappers have been refurbished
