When sold the former 6 were slightly modified by replacing the 3rd with a slightly smaller pot, more in keeping with the rest of the ring (The original 3rd was as big as the tenor!). Two trebles were then added to augment the ring (from spares) and the resulting 8 had a more natural progression of size.
Click here to see a picture of them just before they were sold and click here (52Kb WAV file) to hear rounds chimed on them.

The pots were sold to Tom Blythe who hung them where they are now the basis of "The Tills Campanile" at Messingham, Lincs. The trebles of 8 were a bit too light and the ring was subsequently augmented to 10 with 4 tenors using the back 6 as the front 6.

The original oversized 3rd remained on its fittings in the radial frame with the remainder of the fittings.

Of the spare pots I had, the only diatonic ring that could be formed, without tuning, was a slightly heavier 4 in Bb so these were attached to the spare headstocks with the original 3rd as the treble. Some clapper refurbishment was also carried out.

The new ring was then hung in a new frame, hanging side by side, all swinging the same way, in the garden shed and as space was slightly limited the ropes hang in a straight line! Also due to space restrictions the tenor had to hang in the window so they hang in an unconventional order. They were rung for the first time in May 2006. Since then all the clappers have been refurbished in 2006

During 2007 they became more and more difficult to ring, mainly due to the pullies wearing and therefore the ropes became more likely to jam down the side of the pulley wheel. The last ringing on them before dismantling and moving house again was on 10th October 2007 when it took over 10 attempts to get a course of Plain Bob Minimus around.

Following a move of house the ring has been erected in the new house, now in the garage, the clappers have had further attention to improve striking and new pullies have been provided.
